TYPEFACE: MARIAH PAPAYA
‘Mariah Papaya’ was inspired by the creator's handwriting and named after what friends often call her in reference to her usernames on social media. This condensed, decorative typeface features a tall x-height with slightly rounded corners, and is meant to be used in instances such as with headlines, signage, and greeting cards geared towards children— particularly within the artists' own branding and advertisement. It evokes a playful, child-like tone, and would typically be used with a bright color palette. Mariah Papaya pairs best with light or thin, simple, clean, friendly, and geometric sans serif body text typefaces, such as Avenir or Gotham. In opposition, this typeface clashes with highly contrasted, condensed, and/or elegant serif typefaces—especially those set in all-caps.
